The Land Must Be Exorcised is a story about a small boy, Obinna Okororie, who was brought up in peasant family, and who was destined by God to liberate his people, Ugwunta, the God's chosen people, from the hands of Ugwukwu people, who oppressed and suppressed them, treated them harshly like slaves, and made them hewers of wood and drawers of water, just like it was done to the ancient people of Israel by Pharaoh and his people Egypt. Soon, Obinna and his group formed an Association called Ugwunta Liberation Movement with a secret army called "Ntitu Guerrillas" to kick off the struggle for their Independence. They went to war against Ugwukwu, who tagged themselves, "Born to Rule," as they erroneously talked everywhere that the British imperialist handed them the hegemony of Oguta to rule for ever. Nevertheless, the war ended with Ugwuta the victor. It was the end of an era.
